Mr. Bernhard Schroeder, Head of Division, Administrative, Finance and Social Courts, Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of Germany, visited Japan in response to the invitation of the Supreme Court of Japan. He stayed from September 2nd to 7th, 2019. Mr. Schroeder paid a courtesy call on Secretary-General NAKAMURA Makoto. Additionally, he held discussions with the persons concerned of the Supreme Court of Japan.

Mr. Schroeder also visited the Legal Training and Research Institute, the Training and Research Institute for Court Officials, the Intellectual Property High Court and the Tokyo District Court to deepen his understanding of the Japanese judicial system.

During his visit, extensive judicial exchanges between Germany and Japan were developed.
