Visit by Director General Gurry of WIPO

On February 18, 2016, Director General Francis Gurry and other five persons of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) visited the IP High Court.

Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara gave them a detailed introduction to a variety of topics including an outline of the IP litigation system and the status of court cases in Japan, the defense of patent invalidity, the practice of judicial settlement, recent Grand Panel cases, and the circumstances of international exchanges at and international information distribution from the IP High Court. Meanwhile, Director General Gurry presented WIPO’s ideas on activity policies and other topics.
