Participation in Brazil Symposium at George Washington University
On May 12, 2016, Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara of the IP High Court participated in a symposium on Brazilian High-Tech Litigation held by George Washington University and others, at the University in the United States. Chief Judge Shitara together with judge Aluisio Mendes of the Brazilian Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and former Chief Judge Randall Rader of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit participated in a session entitled “The Role of Specialized IP Courts in the Business Environment” moderated by former Brazilian Judge Liliane Roriz. Chief Judge Shitara responded to questions posed by former Judge Liliane and explained about the roles and functions of IP courts from the perspective of the roles of specialized courts.
