On May 26, 2017, Judge Motoyuki Nakashima of the IP High Court visited the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante, Spain.
Judge Nakashima and EUIPO personnel discussed cases concerning so-called well-known trademarks by comparing Japanese and EUIPO’s judgments. They also exchanged opinions on how to handle new types of trademarks.
