On October 5, 2018, the members of the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO) (five members including the Chairman Mr. Giovanni Pricolo) visited the IP High Court. After Judge Kenichi Furukawa overviewed the IP High Court and a Judicial Research Official provided an explanation on the judicial research official system, the participants had a question and answer session. In the session, the participants actively asked questions on topics including the technical explanatory sessions and utilization of expert technical knowledge in patent litigation. Then they paid a courtesy call on Presiding Judge Yoshiyuki Mori of the Second Division.
