Visit by Legal Apprentices from France's Ecole National de la Magistrature
On February 13, 2018, Lucile Noel and Baudoin Petit, legal apprentices at the Ecole National de la Magistrature of the Republic of France (both expected to be appointed as judges), visited the IP High Court.
After being greeted by Chief Judge Misao Shimizu, the legal apprentices were given a tour of a court room. Following explanations by Judge Motoyuki Nakashima at the court room on the outline and characteristics of the Intellectual Property High Court, they exchanged views with the judge on topics including the efficient way of introducing expert technical knowledge to specialized litigation and actual situations of the system for appointing and educating judges, comparing the systems of France and Japan.
