Attendance at the Munich International Patent Law Conference 2019 (June 28)

Chief Judge Makiko Takabe attended the Munich International Patent Law Conference 2019, which was held on June 28, 2019, at the DPMA Forum in Munich, Germany.
This Conference has been held every year since 2013, co-hosted by the Munich Technical University's Chair for Intellectual Property Law, the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice Regional Court Munich I, and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, and sponsored by the European Patent Office and Rechtsanwaltskammer München.
Judges from Japan, Germany, the U.K., the Netherlands, and the U.S. participated in the latest seventh conference, which was held under the theme of "Finding Facts in Patent Infringement Cases: Discovery, Description, Seizure, Inspection." After the presentations by the judges, participants had panel discussions on the case scenarios. The revision of evidence-collection procedures in Japan attracted participants' attention and triggered active discussions.
