On April 16, 2019, IP High Court Chief Judge Makiko Takabe visited the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC). At the CAFC, which is said to have been the model for establishing IP High Court of Japan, Chief Judge Takabe met Chief Circuit Judge Sharon Prost and they exchanged views regarding the current status of IP litigation in their countries. They reached an agreement that it is important in the field of IP litigation to pay attention to globalization trends and participate in international conferences.
