Visit by a Long-term Trainee of the APIC-JIPII (September 13)
On September 13, 2019, Mr. Duong Thanh Long, who is a founding partner of a law firm in Vietnam, visited the IP High Court. He came to Japan to participate in a long-term training program at the Asia-Pacific Industrial Property Center (APIC) of the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII).
Mr. Duong asked a number of questions regarding his research theme, "how national patent policies and strategies affect patenting and investment activities by pharmaceutical companies," and Chief Judge Makiko Takabe and Judge Takafumi Kokubu provided answers. Chief Judge Takabe also gave him explanations on the trends in court decisions on pharmaceutical cases in Japan and the outline of various activities by the IP High Court.
