Visit by Participants in the Meiji University Law in Japan Program 2019 (July 10)

On July 10, 2019, the participants of the Meiji University "LAW in JAPAN" a two-week summer Japanese law program (13 students from the Asia-Pacific region) visited the IP High Court.
After observing three cases in the courtroom, the visitors were given a briefing by Judge Takuya Ueda on the outlines of the cases. After that, they engaged in an active question and answer session regarding a variety of topics, including an outline of the IP High Court, the structure of proceedings at the court of second instance (whether or not the court allows the introduction of new evidence), and the merits and demerits of the court in charge of the case presiding over proceedings for settlement between the parties.
