On September 28, 2016, 15 persons, including members of the Mark Appeal Commission of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) of Indonesia, visited the IP High Court as part of the “Training for Mark Appeal Commission of Indonesia” provided by JICA for the purpose of learning about JPO's appeal/trial system and court cases relating to trademarks in Japan.

The visitors were given an explanation on “an Outline of the IP High Court” from the Fourth Division Presiding Judge Makiko Takabe, and an explanation on “Court cases concerning three-dimensional trademarks” from Judge Sumiko Maseki. Thereafter, they were engaged in an active question-and-answer session on court cases concerning trademarks in Japan.
