Visit by Professor and Students of Northwestern Law School
On January 8, 2016, eight persons from Northwestern Law School visited the IP High Court, including Professor J. Samuel Tenenbaum and students of Northwestern Law School. They received from Judge Misao Shimizu, the Presiding Judge of the Second Division, explanations on the measures provided for the relief of rights under the Copyright Act, the effects the TTP will have on intellectual property lawsuits in Japan, and the outline of the progress of Japanese intellectual property lawsuits.
Following the explanations, they engaged in a lively Q&A session with Judge Shimizu and another judge of the IP High Court. In this Q&A session, they asked questions about future development of protection of intellectual properties, and Judge Shimizu and other judge of the IP High Court commented on future vistas. They also asked about international lawsuits.
