On June 24, 2015, Professor Phillip Malone, Assistant Professor Lisa Larrimore Ouellette, and others of Stanford Law School visited the IP High Court. After the attendance of court proceedings in a courtroom, the visitors were given from Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara an explanation of the structure of the IP High Court, the court proceedings for patent litigation, the relationship between the defense of invalidity and trials for invalidation, and other matters. Following the completion of the explanation, the Chief Judge answered questions from the visitors, and actively exchanged opinions with them.
