Visit by the Director of the Training Department of the Supreme Court of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and others
On November 27, 2015, a total of 12 persons from the Supreme Court of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, including Mr. U Myint Htay, the director of the Training Department, visited the IP High Court as part of the 5th training course in Japan held by the Ministry of Justice based on the Project for Capacity Development of Legal, Judicial and Relevant Sectors in Myanmar implemented by JICA. Judge Misao Shimizu from the IP High Court explained the process behind the establishment of the IP High Court, the structure of the IP High Court, the technical advisor system, the judicial research official system, the characteristics and current status of IP litigation, and other matters. Following the explanation, the visitors asked many questions including questions about the judges in charge of IP litigation, the technical advisors, and the litigation practices such as settlement and provisional disposition and execution, and engaged in a lively Q&A session. The visitors also toured the Office of Judicial Research Officials, and had a Q&A session with the judicial research officials.
