On September 17, 2015, 38 persons from the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court of Thailand, including Chief Justice Pavana Sugandhavanij and 17 judges visited the IP High Court. They received from Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara and other judges of the IP High Court an explanation on the structure of the IP High Court, the judicial research official system, the technical advisor system, the court procedures for patent litigation, the relationship between the defense of invalidity and trials for invalidation, approaches to decisions on similarity of trademarks, and other matters. Following the explanation, there was an active question-and-answer session on issues such as the specific types of cases handled by the IP High Court, as well as the qualifications of and selection methods for technical advisors.
