Meeting with Lawyers in Germany
On July 8, 2016, Judge Motoyuki Nakashima of the IP High Court and Judge Ryota Shitamichi, who was studying at MIPLC, visited HOFFMANN・EITLE Patent and Law Firm in Munich, Germany, and exchanged opinions with attorney at law Dr. Dirk Schüßler-Langeheine, patent attorney Dr. Thorsten Bausch, attorney at law Dr. Clemens Tobias Steins, and attorney at law Holger Stratmann.
Attorney at law Schüßler and patent attorney Bausch and others provided detailed explanations in response to Judge Nakashima’s questions concerning the actual situation of German intellectual property litigation, including the method of determining the inventive step, and opinions were actively exchanged comparing the situation of Germany and Japan.
