On October 22, 2014, Cornelia Hagedorn, a Judge from the Reinbek District Court of Germany visited the IP High Court.
Judge Hagedorn was provided with a briefing by Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara and other judges of the IP High Court on the IP situation in Japan, including an overview of IP litigation and practices in handling IP cases, and observed proceedings of oral argument. In addition, Judge Hagedorn held lively discussions with IP High Court judges, focusing on the differences between the judicial systems of Japan and Germany. Judge Hagedorn showed considerable interest in IP litigation.
