On October 25, 2016, Minister of Law and Human Right of Indonesia, Mr. Yasonna H. Laoly and others (total 15 persons) visited the IP High Court.

After greetings from Minister Laoly and Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara, Chief Judge Shitara gave an explanation on the outline of the IP High Court. Thereafter, a lively Q&A session ensued, in which Minister Laoly asked many questions mainly about the details of cases handled by the IP High Court, details of the exclusive jurisdiction and proceedings for final appeal related to IP litigations, and the method of calculation of the amount of damages, in association with the explanation from Chief Judge Shitara. The visitors subsequently toured the courtrooms and received an explanation from Judge Motoyuki Nakashima on the outline of explanatory sessions in IP litigations and the Grand Panel case system.
