Visit by Presidential Council on Intellectual Property of Korea
On July 1, 2014, a research group led by Mr. Lee Hae Don from the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property of Korea and Mr. Ha Hong-Joon from the Korea Institute of Intellectual Property visited the IP High Court.
In connection with the IP system reform which is under consideration in Korea, the research group asked a number of detailed questions about various matters such as the current status and legislative process of IP laws in Japan (e.g. exclusive jurisdiction over IP litigation), and how the IP High Court manages and handles IP cases. Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara and Presiding Judge Misao Shimizu of the IP High Court provided answers to these questions.
Also, the research group explained the future prospects and discussion process regarding the IP system reform in Korea.
