On June 9, 2005, Chief Judge Katsumi Shinohara had a talk with a well-known newscaster Maoko Kotani.

Before the talk, Ms. Kotani toured in the IP High Court, viewing the large courtroom and round-table courtrooms as well as the chambers of judges and the offices of other staffs, and received a brief lecture on the history of the Court and the five-judge panel system.

At the Chief Judge's Chamber, Ms. Kotani and Chief Judge Shinohara talked in a congenial and relaxed atmosphere on topics ranging from her impressions of the IP High Court to her career as a newscaster.
