On June 24, 2005, Justice Kenneth Hayne of the High Court of Australia visited the IP High Court with his wife.

Justice Hayne was welcomed by Chief Judge Katsumi Shinohara. After hearing welcoming remarks by Chief Judge Katsumi Shinohara, Justice Hayne toured in the IP High Court, viewing the chambers of judges, the offices of judicial research officials and court clerks, the secretariat office, and the courtrooms (including the round-table courtrooms).

During the meeting, Chief Judge Shinohara explained the organization, jurisdiction, and history of the IP High Court. Justice Hayne commented on the establishment of the IP High Court, stating that he was impressed with the prompt response of the Japanese justice system to business world needs.
