Speeches by Judge of Tokyo District Court at International Conference in Brussels Made Public
Judge Ryuichi Shitara of the Tokyo District Court attended an international conference called “The Pan-european Intellectual Property Summit: Brussels IP 2006,” which was held in Brussels, Belgium, on December 7-8, 2006, under the theme of “IP world best practices: what lessons for Europe?”
At the beginning of the plenary session in the morning of the second day, Judge Shitara made a keynote speech entitled “Japan as an IP-Based Nation.” In the afternoon, he also participated in the concurrent session “Japan Focus,” and made speeches respectively entitled: “The Change in the Court: The Intellectual Property High Court”; “A New Trend in IP Litigation”; and “New Trend in the Employee’s Invention Compensation.”
