Delegation of the US Bar Association Visits the IP High Court
On June 2, 2011, a delegation of the US Bar Association visited the IP High Court and engaged in a meeting with the judges thereof to exchange views.
Following greetings by the Chief Judge, judges of the IP High Court gave presentations entitled "The Positioning of the IP High Court" and "Comparison between infringement actions and actions against trial decisions by the JPO, focusing on decisions on non-obviousness of the same inventions in both actions", while representatives of the US Bar Association gave presentations entitled "Policies of USPTO Director Kappos & U.S.Patent Law Reform", "Inequitable Conduct - the Therasense En Banc Decision" and "Prometheus and Myriad : Recent Important Cases in Biotechnology", following which the delegates and the judges engaged in lively discussion and a Q&A session. The meeting was very informative for both parties.
