The Hon. Chief Justice Gageler received explanations on topics including the judicial system of Japan, the history and jurisdiction of the Intellectual Property High Court (IPHC), and how the IPHC acquires expert knowledge. He then discussed the ideal form of fair proceedings and other relevant matters with Chief Judge MASUDA Minoru, Presiding Judge MORITOMI Yoshiaki, Presiding Judge HASEGAWA Koji, Presiding Judge NAKADAIRA Ken and Judge AMANO Kenji.
The Hon. Chief Justice Gageler then took a tour of the Grand Bench of the Business Court, and exchanged opinions with judges and court officials about issues in the relationship between courts and society, such as recent concepts in courtroom design and courts coexisting with local communities.
