JPO/IPR Training Course for Trial
The JPO/IPR Training is an international training program provided by the Asia-Pacific Industrial Property Center of the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation as entrusted by the Japan Patent Office. The training program aims to develop human resources to be involved in the field of industrial property rights in developing countries, mainly in the Asia-Pacific region. The Course on Trial and Appeal System of the program is aimed at developing human resources that will contribute to creating and improving trial and appeal systems. The IP High Court provides cooperation in this course.
In the past, participants in the course would visit the IP High Court to observe actual court proceedings, receive explanations and ask questions on-site. However, as the training this fiscal year was held on-line, following last fiscal year, in light of the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, lectures by Judge UEDA Takuya and Judicial Research Official MITSUMOTO Minako on the "role and current status of the IP High Court" were recorded and distributed to the trainees via video streaming from October 25 to November 17, 2021.
