IP High Court Seminar (Lecture by Professor Christoph Rademacher, School of Law, Faculty of Law, Waseda University, under the title of “Comparative Study on Exercise of Patent Rights in Germany and Japan”) (February 24)

  •  On February 24, 2023, the IP High Court Seminar was held, inviting Professor Christoph Rademacher from the School of Law, Faculty of Law, Waseda University, who delivered a lecture under the title of “Comparative Study on Exercise of Patent Rights in Germany and Japan.”
     In his lecture, Professor Rademacher provided a detailed explanation of patent infringement litigation in Germany, including various topics, such as separation of procedures between the courts dealing with infringement cases and the federal patent court, the right to request inspection, and relief by an injunction, and referring to the latest situation in practice and comparison with Japanese legal system.
     The lecture and the question and answer session held thereafter enabled the participants to deeply understand the procedures for patent infringement litigation in Germany and provided them with a precious opportunity to take another look at the current Japanese legal system.
