- From May 16 to 24, 2024, Judge Iwai Naoyuki of the Intellectual Property High Court participated in the 146th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) held in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. INTA is a global network of brand owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks. Over 9,600 people participated in this year's Annual Meeting.
Judge Iwai participated as a speaker in a panel discussion titled "All Rise, News from INTA IP Court." In this session, Judge Iwai and judges from Canada, China, Germany, Kenya, and Republic of Korea introduced legal issues on trademarks recently under discussion in their countries. Judge Iwai introduced a recent trial on a color trademark in Japan as an example and participated in a Q&A session.
