On May 22, Mr. Chotiwat Leaungprasert, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, visited the Supreme Court of Japan to pay a courtesy call on Chief Justice TOKURA Saburo and Justice MIYAMA Takuya.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Justice TOKURA, together with Justice MIYAMA, expressed their great pleasure to welcome Chief Justice Chotiwat from the Kingdom of Thailand, the country with which Japan had made various judicial exchanges. Chief Justice Chotiwat responded that such judicial exchanges should be further strengthened.
Chief Justice TOKURA pointed out the importance of comprehensive reform of court procedures, in order to progress the use of technology at courts. Chief Justice Chotiwat agreed, stating that both judges and court officials should fundamentally transform their working styles.
They continued active exchange of views on various issues, including approaches of judicial courts of Thailand to expedite court procedures.
