Chief Justice TOKURA and President Bogason actively exchanged their views and agreed that Japan and Iceland, sharing core values, such as respect for fundamental human rights, democracy and rule of law, should further deepen mutual understanding. Justice NAGAMINE also expressed his hope that this visit could be a good chance to develop exchanges between the judiciaries of the two countries, pointing out that Japan historically developed its legal system through exchanges with other countries.
