On March 1 and 2, 2021, a Study Meeting on Foreign Judiciary Practices was held at the Legal Training and Research Institute, and Honorable William Glover Young, a judge of the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, delivered an online lecture. About 60 judges from across the country participated in this study meeting.

On the first day, Judge Young delivered a lecture under the title “The Art of Judging,” in which he talked about how courts should try and decide on cases, based on his extensive practical experience as a judge.

On the second day, a discussion session was held among Judge Young and the participants regarding the theme of his lecture. There was a vigorous exchange of opinions, with the participants asking Judge Young questions about various topics such as the roles of judges in legal construction and fact finding, his views on the jury system, his secrets for sustaining passion for justice, and maintenance of physical and mental health.
